¼ cup brandy
¼ cup triple sec
2 cinnamon sticks
3 star anise
20 whole allspice
2 whole nutmeg, microplaned or grated OR 1 tablespoon ground
Orange slices and additional cloves for garnish
In a square of doubled cheesecloth, place cinnamon sticks, star anise, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves. Use string to tie into a sachet. Combine remaining ingredients with spice bag in a crockpot or stew pot. Simmer over very low heat for 45 minutes to an hour. Serve in mugs and garnish with orange slices studded with cloves.
