Wine Cocktail: Snugglebug
Light the fire and grab the sweater for this toasty cocktail.
Infusing our ruby-hued Sutter Home Zinfandel with the rich aroma of mulling spices, the delightfully warming Snugglebug might be your new signature cold-weather drink for welcoming friends over during the winter.
INGREDIENTS
1 bottle Sutter Home Zinfandel
¼ cup brandy
¼ cup triple sec
2 cinnamon sticks
3 star anise
20 whole allspice
2 whole nutmeg, microplaned or grated OR 1 tablespoon ground
20 cloves
Orange slices and additional cloves for garnish
DIRECTIONS
In a square of doubled cheesecloth, place cinnamon sticks, star anise, allspice, nutmeg, and cloves. Use string to tie into a sachet. Combine remaining ingredients with spice bag in a crockpot or stew pot. Simmer over very low heat for 45 minutes to an hour. Serve in mugs and garnish with orange slices studded with cloves.
