’Twas the Night Before Christmas: Xmas Eve Traditions
Many celebrations take place on Christmas Day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t commence the fun and festivities a little early. As December comes to an end, squeeze in some extra together time by starting a new tradition (or continue on with your own customs) with these family-oriented Christmas Eve activities.
A Festive Family Dinner
Start the feasting early by dining on the Eve of Christmas. A great option for extra Together Time, this pre-holiday meal also lets you make the rounds with other family members or friends that might not be at the main event.
Touring the Town’s Christmas Lights
Most towns boast at least one neighborhood where every house is decked to the nines in shining lights and extravagant holiday displays. On Christmas Eve, pile your family in the car and drive through the town to take in the spectacular, illuminated (and free) show.
Pre-Christmas Gift Exchange
For the kiddos, it can be hard work to wait until Christmas morning for present opening! Give them a taste of things to come by letting them open ONE gift the night before.
