#MeTime: Discover the Value of Journaling
Most days, #MeTime is likely from the vantage point of a comfy chair or sofa – television on, feet up, and a glass of wine in hand. But make a conscious effort to save some shows for later, place the smartphone and tablet in another room, and unplug completely from time to time. The advantage of tuning out all distractions should become clear, especially with a pen in your free hand.
Benefit from being in the moment with your thoughts by journaling. Journaling can take many different forms, so whether you prefer a traditional diary-like entry, favor dashing down musings, or like the look of a list, no one approach is necessarily better than another. Also, while finding a pretty bound journal can be its own inspiration, any notebook or pad can serve as your journal. It’s about what’s inside!
As the old adage goes, “Write what you know.” Get out whatever might be on your mind – current challenges, great ideas, future goals. Remember, you’re not being graded on grammar, proper punctuation, or sentence construction, so capture your thoughts and ideas as they come. Such a free-form method can be really freeing!
