Cheers to 40 Years of White Zinfandel
Sometimes the best things in life aren’t planned at all.
Back in 1975, Sutter Home winemaker Bob Trinchero was creating a dry, rosé-style Zinfandel. But the fermentation process stopped early, leaving a pink-tinged wine that was slightly sweet.
He’d created White Zinfandel – by accident.
Bottled as is, Sutter Home White Zinfandel was a success, quickly becoming America’s single-most popular wine. For many wine lovers (possibly even you), it was this very White Zinfandel that introduced them to wine and the idea of everyday enjoyment at home.
Forty years later, this American original remains a favorite. Sutter Home Family Vineyards is proud to have been there from the start, and we’re commemorating the anniversary with a new limited-edition Sutter Home White Zinfandel bottle.
You’re invited to join our celebration of the #OriginalWhiteZin. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing White Zinfandel pairings, cocktails, and fun facts about America’s favorite pink wine here and on our Pinterest board.
Cheers to 40 years of Sutter Home White Zinfandel!
