Hickory Bacon Cheeseburger

I love bacon cheeseburgers, but the bacon either slides of the cheese or it too thin and you can not taste the bacon. If you get it with thick bacon it shreds the bread, or when you take a bite the bacon dangles from your lips, so I have created the perfect Hickory Bacon Cheeseburger.


1 lb lean hamburger meat
1 egg
5 thick slices of hickory bacon
dash of pepper
dash of salt
4 onion burger buns, split
4 slices hickory smoked cheese (Hard)
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 cup mayonnaise
4 tablespoons of Hickory BBQ sauce


1. Cook your bacon until crispy place bacon on paper towel to cool. 2.In medium bowl combine ground beef, and one egg mix together, add salt, pepper and crumbled bacon. Mix well. 3. Shape mixture into 4 hamburgers 1/2 inch thick. 4. Place in pan over medium heat for 6 to 10 minutes or until throughly cooked turning once. 5.Take buns place in toater oven or oven face down for 1 to 2 minutes or until lightly toasted. 6. Take one cup of mayonnaise, add 4 tablespoons of Hickory BBQ sauce, mix well in small bowl, or until desired flavor. 7.Lightly spread hickory mayonnaise on bottom side of the bun, place the shredded lettuce on bottom bun, add Hickory Baconburger, top with hickory smoked cheese. 8. Enjoy!


With this you can add onions, pickles, sautéed mushrooms, or whatever you want.
