Wine & Food Pairing: Big Game Day
It’s time to get ready for the Big Game! Invite all your friends over to enjoy one of America’s favorite pastimes with some tasty treats and delicious wine.
In the spirit of the Big Game we have divided our food and wine pairings into teams: Team Red and Team White. Depending on your crowd, you might want to have both red wine and white wine on hand to serve. We found a few great snacks that will go with either type of wine (red or white), no matter what team you’re on! The treats below are sure to be crowd pleasers. Don’t forget to decorate accordingly… your super-fans will appreciate seeing their team’s colors represented—red, white or otherwise!
Team Red
Team Red is stacked with bold flavors. The richness of most red wines need hearty foods like 7-layer dip and potato skins. Kick it up a notch by bringing in some spicy flavors—steak quesadillas will do the trick. And to balance the table out with something a little lighter, try some vegetable spring rolls. Just make sure to save room for something sweet, like delicious pumpkin mini cakes!
Team White
Team White has an all-star lineup from the crisp Sauvignon Blanc to the delectable Sweet White. These wines go great with lighter appetizers like roasted red pepper dip or spinach and cheese bites. In order to keep up with the bold flavors of the Red Team, make these buffalo chicken sliders—touchdown! For an easy fan favorite, make garlic Parmesan pizza bites. Last but not least, make a sundae station!
No matter who wins the Big Game, celebrate the day with a toast of Bubbly Moscato. Game on!
