Ways to Make the Most of Family Time

Ways to Make the Most of Family Time

After all of the holidays, guests, celebrations and winter vacations, it’s time to return to the thing that truly matters: Family. As we start to fall into new routines in the new year, scheduling in time with loved ones is a must. It’s easy to get caught up in everyday endeavors, but by slowing down and setting up activities everyone can enjoy, you can really make the most of every precious moment. Whether you want to start new traditions with nearby family or just want a few extra minutes with the kids, here are a few simple yet gratifying ways to cash in on quality time:

Build a snowman with everyone.

When the snow starts falling, there are endless memories to be made. Suit up the your crew in all of their snow gear and bring them outside to build a family snowman. While top hats and carrot noses are classic, make it extra fun by decorating with unexpected items, like sunglasses, scarf, winter beanie, or maybe even a wig from last Halloween.

Roast marshmallows over a fire with your spouse.

Bring back the romance with your beloved by roasting marshmallows over a warm and cozy fire.   Bring out the blankets for cozy comfort, and maybe even transform your melted ‘mallows into a classic s’mores dessert.

Try an at-home wine tasting with nearby siblings.

If other family members live nearby, bring everyone together for an at-home wine tasting with Sutter Home. Serve charcuterie boards and a variety of wines—or even our Sutter Home mini bottles—for an easygoing (and tasty!) way to unwind.
