Huddle Up for Hope. Tailgating Recipes Win Over Crowds While Giving Back

With football season in full swing, it’s time to kick off a tailgating party for your team of friends and family. Serve your favorite Sutter Home wines and whip up a few tasty crowd cheering, tummy pleasing recipes. While you’re setting your tailgating spread, don’t forget to bring on a super big bags of crispy, crunchy Snyder’s Hanover Chips, or Pretzels, and plenty of Wholly Guacamole, to satisfy your teams snack time plays. Put the following winning recipes in your playbook, and you’ll always be ready for game day. After all, what’s game day without a winning combination of wine, awesome apps and snacks?

 

Pub Footballs

An all-grown-up take on the jalapeño popper, these salty-spicy snacks put the kick in kickoff. Tame the heat by pairing with cool Wholly Guacamole and chilled, delicious Sutter Home Pink Moscato.

Ingredients:

– 10 fresh jalapeños
– 10 slices of bacon
– 1 cup cream cheese
– Toothpicks

Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Slice jalapeños in half lengthwise and remove the seeds. Fill with cream cheese. Wrap each pepper in a slice of bacon; secure with toothpick. Bake 15-20 minutes, or until bacon is crispy.

 

Chili Cheese Dip

Tackle warm, cheesy goodness with this satisfying dip. If you’re feeling adventurous, swap the canned chili with your homemade version for a personalized spin, and you’ll empty the stands when you breakout the Sutter Home White Zinfandel.

Ingredients:

– 1 can of chili (or substitute your homemade variety)
– 1 cup cream cheese
– 2 packages shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican cheese blend
– 1 pinch of black pepper
– Snyder’s of Hanover Tortilla Chips (for dipping)

Directions: Preheat oven to broil. Mix the chili and cream cheese in a medium-size baking dish, then microwave for about 1 minute. Add in 1 package of cheddar cheese and a pinch of black pepper. Microwave for another minute or until cheese has melted. Top with the other package of cheddar cheese, then broil for 5-10 minutes, or until cheese is bubbling. Serve with tortilla chips.
