Did you hear the one about Food Network?

Well here it is, halfway through the month of August (I’m sorry, but where did the summer go??)

There’s only a few days left to get those burger recipes in! The deadline is August 18.

Aside from that nugget of valuable information, I have some very exciting news to share!

Food Network will be returning to film all the juicy action! Woot woot!

So here’s a little insider info: We are picking finalists on Friday, August 29, 2008 so that will be FN’s first video opp (or photo opp, if you’re me).

Basically, our judges have been reviewing your entries all summer long and have compiled something I like to call the ‘paper pile of delicious-ness’. It’s all those recipes that have caught their eyes. From there, they will be meet, discuss and select the recipes that will be featured in the test kitchen. Food Network will be capturing all that burger goodness, along with my favorite part, the taste-testing. Yes, it’s a rough job, but someone has to do it!

Then of course, there is the actual contest which is held on September 27. Word on the street is that finalists will be notified sometime after Labor Day. (They don’t give me exact dates, apparently they think I’ll blog about it or something. They know me so well.)

So get those entries in…I’m looking forward to tryin’ your creation!
