5 Perfect Summer Wine Cocktails
Need a way to unwind on a hot summer’s day or night These five Sutter Home wine cocktails are made for this time of year, each a fantastic way to beat the heat.

STRAWBERRY QUENCHER
INGREDIENTS
1 cup Sutter Home White Zinfandel
1/2 cup light rum
5 cups ice
1 pint strawberry sorbet
1 shot Triple Sec
4 fresh strawberries
DIRECTIONS
Blend all ingredients, adding ice as needed to get the desired consistency. Garnish with a strawberry slice. Serve immediately.
Tip: Before serving, dip rim of glass in water then in sugar. Fill and serve immediately.
VINTNER’S VACATION
INGREDIENTS
4 oz. Sutter Home Chardonnay
2 oz. almond liqueur
2 oz. pineapple juice
1 oz. freshly squeezed pomelo or grapefruit juice
1 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
1 oz. cream of coconut
Ice cubes or crushed ice
1 fresh pineapple slice, for garnish
DIRECTIONS
Combine the wine, liqueur, juices, and cream of coconut in a cocktail shaker with a handful of ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into a tall glass and add ice, if desired. Garnish with a pineapple slice and serve.
PINK FIZZY
INGREDIENTS
1 – 750ml bottle of Sutter Home White Zinfandel
2 – 12 oz. cans of pink lemonade
2 – 12 oz. cans of lemon-lime soda
DIRECTIONS
Combine all ingredients in a large punch bowl. Serve in stemless wine glasses, garnishing with lemon and lime wheels.
Tip: Even out the wine-to-lemonade ratio by using a 1.5L bottle or two 750ml bottles.
BUBBLY MOJITO
INGREDIENTS
1/2 oz. mint simple syrup (see recipe below)
1 oz. white rum
Juice of one lime
1 oz. Sutter Home Bubbly Brut
Lime wedge for garnish
Handful of fresh mint leaves, destemmed
DIRECTIONS
Muddle mint leaves in the bottom of a pint glass. Fill glass with ice. Add rum and simple syrup. Splash an ounce of Sutter Home Bubbly Moscato on top. Garnish with a lime wedge. Makes 1 drink.
MINT SIMPLE SYRUP RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
1 packed cup of chopped mint leaves
DIRECTIONS
Combine chopped mint leaves, sugar, and water in a medium sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer for 2 minutes. Turn off flame and let syrup cool to room temperature. Strain syrup if desired.
BLACK THAI SPRITZER
INGREDIENTS
4 oz. Sutter Home Pinot Grigio, chilled
1 oz. ginger liqueur
2 oz. lemon-lime flavored soda, chilled
3 oz. fresh Thai basil
DIRECTIONS
Shake Sutter Home Pinot Grigio and ginger liqueur with ice. Strain into a rocks glass, add lemon-lime soda and basil. (Muddle basil in glass first, if preferred.)
