Recipe Secrets Brought Home.

Welcome to the Sutter Home Kitchen. Although it’s very well-loved by our family, friends and Wine Club members, it’s still relatively unknown, and we prefer it that way. Let’s keep it the family.

Distinctive Meals Made Easy.
One of the things we’re very proud of is the fact that every recipe served in our Sutter Home Kitchen is created by our family of culinary artisans who help run our wonderfully equipped kitchen, and now they want to share their delectable recipes with you. As part of this series, you’ll discover how easy it is to prepare the dishes invented in our Sutter Home Kitchen for family and friends.

The first recipe is provided by Sutter Home Chef Mary Jo.
She calls it “Figs & Ham 2 Ways.”

Figs & Ham 2 Ways

Ingredients:
6-8 mission figs
1/4 pound mild blue cheese
6-8 pieces of prosciutto di parma
8 ounces mascarpone cheese
1 Meyer lemon for zesting (if in season, regular lemon if not)

Way 1:
Cut figs in 1/2 through stem. Scoop a small bit of seeded section out of the middle to make a divot.
Place 1/4” square of blue cheese in divot. Wrap fig and cheese with 1”-wide strip of prosciutto.
Serve cut side up on platter. Serving portion: One fig per person.

Way 2:
Cut figs in 1/2 through stem. Scoop a small bit of seeded section out of the middle to make a divot.
Fill divot with small dollop of mascarpone cheese. Top mascarpone with 3 strips of Meyer lemon zest.
Wrap fig and mascarpone with 1”-wide strip of prosciutto. Serve cut side up on platter.
Serving portion: One fig per person.
