2015 Live In The Vineyard Weekend Recap

The sun always seems to shine brightly upon Napa Valley during Live in the Vineyard, and the spring edition continued that tradition. In addition to the picturesque weather, Guests attending this exclusive three-day Wine Country event enjoyed fantastic music, wonderful wines, and delicious food.

On Friday evening, Live in the Vineyard returned to the historic Uptown Theatre in Napa, where the event’s reputation for introducing newer artists and welcoming more familiar musical names was further burnished. Family of the Year, Oh Honey, Needtobreathe, The Ting Tings, and Florida Georgia Line each brought a unique energy to the stage, delivering sets that wowed the crowd from start to finish.

On Saturday afternoon, Sutter Home Winery welcomed rock icon Melissa Etheridge for an intimate performance. Charcuterie, cheeses, and mini cupcakes were served alongside glasses of wine, including the newest addition to the Sutter Home family, our fun and festive California-style Sangria.

Accompanying herself on guitar, Melissa opened her set with “Chrome Plated Heart,” a bluesy standout from her 1988 self-titled debut, followed by a captivating “No Souvenirs.” After treating the audience to her signature hit, “Come To My Window,” she answered fans’ requests for “California” and “I’m The Only One,” before wrapping with a fiery “Bring Me Some Water” and a well-deserved standing ovation.

Just a few hours later, the Uptown Theatre was rocking once more, with Live in the Vineyard winners and guests enjoying sets from Greg Holden, Life of Dillon, The Veronicas, Priory (including an onstage dance party with audience members), and headliners Lifehouse. Wrapping up another weekend of great music paired with wine and food, it made for a moment worth hanging onto for a lifetime.

We’re so proud to have hosted Melissa Etheridge at the Sutter Home Winery. Check out our exclusive interview with her as well as her latest album, This Is M.E., which includes the new single, “Monster” (download the song for free right here).

I've been a Melissa Etheridge fan since I was 18. I'm 36 now. Her logo was my first tattoo. Every mountain she has climbed has been turned into a story and played out on guitar. She was my first inspiration.

You are my daughter's favorite singer and as her Mom I would like to do something good for her. As she's been through a lot during her life. Surprise would be very emotional for her and also for myself.

Have been a fan since 1988, when my sister-in-law took me to Atlantic city for my first Melissa concert. I was hooked....have (only!) been able to attend two more concerts since but love her as much as ever. and being a breast cancer survivor myself makes me love her all the more !!!

That must have been an awesome performance. I am sure that the tiny video can't do justice to this exciting and memorable evening.

I keep dreaming that I am playing music on a signed Melissa guitar! I must be dreaming, or hoping really bad!
