Sutter Home Social Hour: Host A Moscato Pairing Party

| Posted by Heather for Sutter Home

Any time of year is perfect for hosting a wine pairing party, or better yet, a Moscato pairing party!

May kicked off with National Moscato Day on May 9th, and since then it has been all Moscato, all the time, and we’ve loved every minute! For May’s Sutter Home Social Hour we put together a few ideas to host a Moscato Pairing Party. Have you tried all of the Sutter Home Moscato varietals? If not, invite all your friends over for a tasting party and share some treats that pair perfectly with each Sutter Home Moscato Wine. It’s a simple yet elegant way for everyone to explore the different flavors of Moscato, while enjoying your time together.

Start by setting up a table with enough glasses for everyone to try each varietal. Decorate the table with chalkboards or cute signs that describe each type of Moscato. Fill the table with easy snacks to pair (we’ll get to those in a minute!).

To make sure all your guests keep track of their wine glasses throughout the tasting, make cute wine charms the night before! Plus, they are the perfect party gift to remember a fun Social Hour night.

Here’s an easy cheat sheet of the Sutter Home Moscato flavor profiles and the best treats to pair each with.

Moscato

Sutter Home Moscato is always a crowd favorite.  It is a classic wine that has hints of creamy peach and honeydew melon that will sweeten up the mood with just one sip. When you smell our Moscato you’ll smell hints of roses, lychee, and peach. Beautifully balanced and acidic, it is bound to wow your guests.

Pair with: A fresh summer salad, grilled salmon teriyaki bites, and a fruity dessert like this lemon poppy seed cake.

Pink Moscato

Pink Moscato wine is sweet in all the right ways. Its caramel aromas and hints of passion fruit and melon are good enough to make you cheers to another sip. It finishes with a hint of vanilla, which makes it smooth and versatile!

Pair with: Spicy chipotle chicken tostada bites, blackberry and goat cheese crostini, and vanilla bean scones.

Red Moscato

If you are a wine lover who can’t decide between red and white wine, Red Moscato is your Moscato of choice. Creamy and bold, this wine has the same sweetness as our Moscato but with a depth like red wine. It is wonderfully balanced with berry and rich cherry flavors.

Pair with: Chips and mango salsa, spinach and feta cheese pizza, and tart cherry pie bars.
