Sutter Home Wine & Food Series: White Zinfandel

| Posted by Megan for Sutter Home

White Zin, as we affectionately call it, has welcomed many now-wine fans into the wine world and we're proud to say that we've been producing White Zin for about 35 years!

With sweet flavors of strawberries and fresh melon, Sutter Home White Zinfandel compliments mild cheese plates, light salads, egg rolls, sausage pizza, pulled pork sandwiches, buffalo wings, grilled shrimp kebobs, and bacon penne pasta.

Didja Know?

That Sutter Home invented White Zinfandel? It was a happy accident in 1975 when the winemaker took some extra Zinfandel grape juice (the red kind) and let it ferment separately from the rest of the more concentrated Zinfandel juice. It ended up being deliciously pink and sweet! We never looked back! In fact, if you come visit our tasting room in Napa Valley or visit our online store, you can purchase our Reserve 2010 White Zinfandel!

I tried to order some white zifindal reserve and Riesling/moscato to be ship as a present to my brother-in-law in Ohio. I was told that you cannot ship to Ohio. Why and what other states are restricted besides Ohio & Pennsylvania?

Hello William, to answer your question, each state has specific laws about alochol being shipped to consumers. Alabama, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Utah, MIssissippi, Massachuessettes are all states where we are unable to ship to the consumer. Whole salers can ship to Delware and South Dakota. You can have wine shipped to your state if you purchase wine onsite in Arizona, Georgia, Kentucky and South Carolina.
