Zesty Garlic Pizza Burgers

Pairs well with:

White Zinfandel

With strawberry and melon essences, this American original is perfectly at home with however you like to unwind.

Ingredients

1/4 cup chopped green peppers
1/4 cup chopped green onions
1/4 cup chopped mushrooms
1/4 cup chopped black olives
2 tablespoons Sutter Home White Zinfandel Wine
2 tablespoons tomato puree
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
1 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
2 pounds ground chuck hamburger
3 tablespoon vegetable oil for greasing grilling rack
6 slices Mozzarella Cheese
3 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
6 soft Kaiser Rolls, split in half
6 tablespoons Dijon Mustard

 

Instructions

1. Preheat gas grill to medium high heat. 2. In large mixing bowl combine green peppers, green onions, mushrooms, black olives, Wine, tomato puree, garlic salt, garlic powder, basil, oregano, and Italian Seasoning, and mix well with a fork. 3. Blend in ground chuck, handling meat only as much as necessary, and form into 6 patties. 4. Grease grill rack by lightly brushing vegetable oil over rack. 5. Place patties one inch apart and cook 6-8 minutes or until browned on first side. 6. Flip burgers with a spatula and cook an additional 5-7 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees farenheit. 7. Place cheese slices over burgers and cover grill with lid cooking an additional minute or until cheese thoroughly melted. 8. While burgers cooking brush Olive Oil on rolls and lightly toast on grill approximately one minute until golden brown. 9. Place burgers on open faced rolls and dollop one tablespoon Dijon mustard on each burger. Makes 6 burgers.
