Yummy Half Pound Pocket Burgers

Ingredients

3 pounds ground chuck
2 medium/large red tomatoes
1 medium onion (Vadalia in season)
1 large ripe avacado
3 tsp. salt
2 tsp. pepper
3 tsp. dry mustard
4 tbsp. worcestershire sauce
4 tbsp. teriyaki sauce
cooking oil to brush on grill
dijon mustard to spread on meat & buns
mayonnaise to spread on meat & buns
6 slices swiss cheese
6 Kaiser buns

 

Instructions

Mix salt, pepper, dry mustard, worcestershire sauce, teriyaki sauce into ground chuck that has been separated with a fork…thoroughly combine…..set aside Slice as thin as possible: Tomatoes, onion, avacado; for tomatoes and onion, make rounds; avacado can be sliced into wedges…..set aside Form meat mixture into 12 equal sized patties; flatten as much as possible Spread 6 of the patties with mayonnaise and 6 with dijon mustard Place a slice of onion, a slice of tomato, and 2 slices of avacado on the 6 mayo patties Place a mustard patty on top of each of the mayo patties Pinch edges of your double burger all around until very well sealed Pre heat (medium high) the grill and brush with oil Cook burgers a total of 12 minutes on medium/high heat…..turning all every 3 minutes Place the 6 slices of swiss cheese on burgers after 12 minutes is up…close lid of grill for 20 seconds to melt cheese…..remove burgers Toast opened buns for 30 seconds after burgers are removed….leave lid up Put one burger on each bun and add additional mayo and mustard to each side of bun Serve
