I love eating hamburgers but one can get tried of the same kind of burger. One night I was in the mood for Italian and so I created a burger with Italian flair.
1 1/2 pound of round ground meat
1/3 pound of ground pork sausage
1 small chopped onion
1 teaspoon of dry Italian Seasoning
3 Tablespoons of tomato sauce
1 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of pepper
1 clove of garlic minced
6 Tablespoons of mayonnaise
1/4 cup of feda cheese
6 slices of provolone cheese
12 spinach leaves
6 crusty bread buns
Heat grill to medium high heat with cover. Mix the first 8 ingredients Grill for 5 minutes on each side check for doneness. Mix Mayonnaise and feda cheese. Place crusty bread buns on a cookie sheet. Place meat, the provolone cheese slice, and 2 spinach leaves and a Tablespoon of the mixed mayo with feda. Return to grill cover till cheese melts.
You will feel like you are in the old country. Accompany with a tall glass of red wine. Velicima!
