Turkey-Oat Burgers with Basil-Gorgonzola Salsa

Ingredients

Salsa:
1 cup seeded and finely chopped Roma tomatoes
2 Tbsp. snipped fresh basil
2 Tbsp. snipped fresh parsley
1/4 cup chopped roasted peppers (from a jar)
1/4 cup diced red onion
1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1/3 cup crumbled gorgonzola cheese
1/4 tsp. sea salt
Burgers:
1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
1 cup regular oats
1 cup finely chopped Vidalia onion
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 1/4 tsp. salt
2 large egg whites, lightly beaten
1/4 cup Sutter Home Moscato
6 onion sandwich buns

 

Instructions

Salsa: Combine tomatoes, basil, parsley, roasted peppers, onion, lemon juice, cheese and salt in a medium size bowl. Cover and refrigerate until needed. Burgers; Combine turkey, oats, onion, chili powder, salt, egg whites, and wine. Divide mixture into 6 equal portions, shaping each into a round patty. Preheat the grill to high. Coat grill with non-stick spray for grilling. Cook patties 8 to 10 minutes turning once. During the last few minutes of cooking, place buns cut side down on the outer edges of the grill until lightly toasted. Place 1 patty on bottom half of each bun, top each with some salsa and top half of roll.
