The Ultimate Chili Pepper Burger

Pairs well with:

White Merlot

Imagine sipping a lighter Merlot. This fresh, pale-pink wine is a nice change from traditional red or white wines.

Ingredients

Burger Patties
2 ¾ lbs ground Angus or ground chuck
1 green bell pepper-diced
1 red bell pepper-diced
1 orange bell pepper-diced
1 medium or large onion-diced
8 oz pepperjack cheese-sliced
Cayenne pepper
Garlic glove-chopped
3 T. butter
2 T Steak Seasoning
1 t. chili powder Chili
1 ¼ lb. ground Angus or ground chuck
1 T. Chili powder
1 onion-diced
1 green pepper-diced
3 medium tomatoes-diced
1 ½ t. ground cumin
cayenne pepper to taste
salt to taste
Cayenne Mayo
1 c. mayo
½ t. cayenne pepper
1 garlic glove
¼ salt Breads
12 slices Sour Dough
3 T. butter

 

Instructions

Chili powder 1 onion-diced 1 green pepper-diced 3 medium tomatoes-diced 1 ½ t. ground cumin cayenne pepper to taste salt to taste Cayenne Mayo 1 c. mayo ½ t. cayenne pepper 1 garlic glove ¼ salt Breads 12 slices Sour Dough 3 T. butter Directions Step 1-Prepare Chili Brown meat, onions and pepper in skillet; remove from heat; add tomatoes to skillet, stir occasionally; remove from heat when it texture becomes paste; add all ingredients to large sauce pan; simmer for 60 minutes Step 2-Prepare Cayenne Mayo Place all ingredients in food processor; mix until smooth; refrigerate in covered container for 2 to 3 hours Step 3-Prepare burger patties (approximately 2 to 3 hours after steps 1 and 2 are complete) Prepare charcoal grill with Kingsford coals and mesquite chips (follow directions on packages) Heat olive oil in large skillet over medium heat; add peppers, onions and garlic; stir occasionally until tender; in a separate bowl, add meat, black pepper, steak seasoning, chili power, sage, cayenne pepper to taste; combine all ingredients in bowl; mix thoroughly with fingers; make 6 equal sized patties; place patties on grill, turn every 3 to 4 minutes with spatula or tongs, repeat turning (each side should cook a total of 6 to 8 minutes); add 2 slices pepperjack. Step 4-Prepare Bread (while burgers are grilling) Butter inside of bread, place face down on hot skillet for 3 to 4 minutes Step 5-Build The Burger Spread cayenne mayo to both pieces of bread, add burger on bottom bun, add chili Step 6-ENJOY!!!!!
