The Hopping Garlic Tamale Burger

Ingredients

Burger
2 pounds ground beef
1 cup of cornmeal
2 tablespoons of chili powder
1 tablespoon of cumin
4 cloves of garlic chopped finely
2 eggs
4 dashes of hot sauce
1 tablespoon of kosher salt
.5 tablespoon of pepper Sauce
16 diced plum tomatoes
1/4 of a 7 ounce can of chipote peppers in adobo sauce
2 tablespoons of white vinegar
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
4 garlic cloves crushed
.5 tablespoon of kosher salt
.5 tablespoon of pepper
2 dashes of hot sauce
Topping
2 cups of finely shredded monterey jack cheese
5 plum tomoatoes chopped finely
1 can of black olives diced
12 thick slices of navajo bread
olive oil to grease grill

 

Instructions

Combine burger ingredients. Shape into 6 patties. Chop tomatoes. Add remaining sauce ingredients. Place in small saucepan and place on the grill. Simmer for at least 30 minutes. Grease grill with olive oil. Place patties on the grill. Place sauce on all slices of the bread. Place cooked burgers on bread and add toppings.
