The Gilded Bovine
A proper burger should be both a treat that sets itself apart from it's fast food counterparts and yet acceable enough both pallet wise and concerning the ingredents used. The burger is comfort food, road food and a favorite summer grilling fare. Playing dress up with the traditional beef, american cheese and whatever condiments is wonderful and almost always interesting. The burger has stood to be a faithful friend of the American diner and has earned it's place in the world of haute' cusine. So I have chosen some of my favorite ingredients to work with. None of them are too far from reach but you will need to do some looking about for them which no doubt will make the final result more satisifying.
1. A brioche bun.
3.Comte' Saint Antoine Cheese.
4.Thinly sliced purple onions.
6.1/2 cup sauted porchini mushrooms.
7.Ground Kobe Beef .
1.Lightly season the beef with garlic salt and 1.tsp of Dijon mustard. 2.Form the Kobe beef into 2 lemon sized balls. 3.Make these into patties and lay flat. 4.Saute' the Porchinis in some butter with a touch of olive oil. 5. one soft place these on one of the patties and lay the other over it sealing in the mushrooms. 6. Grill, or Pan cook the beef to a medium rare or how ever desired. 7. Lightly toast the Brioche. 8. Lay the sliced heirloom tomatos on the meat & melt the Comte' Sanit Antione onto the meat over the tomatos. 10.Place the Meat on the bottom of the brioche bun. 11.Lay on the thinly sliced purple onions & the boston lettuce. 12. Top with the top of the brioche bun and enjoy!
