The Bacchus Burger

I get lots of great comments when I serve these burgers to friends.


2 lbs Ground Chuck
1/2 cup Sutters Home Cabernet Sauvignon
1/4 cup Worcestershire Sauce
2/3 cup bread crumbs seasoned 
1 tbs garlic powder
1 tsp All Purpose Greek Seasoning
1 tbs minced onions
1 egg
Vegetable oil for grill grates
4 Wheat buns
4 tsp mayonnaise
4 tsp mustard
4 slices 1/4" onion
4 slices 1/4" tomato
4 lettuce leaves


Preheat a gas grill to medium-high In a bowl add Ground Chuck, Wine, Worcestershire, Bread crumbs, Garlic powder,All purpose Greek Seasoning, minced onions and egg. Mix ingredients until blended being careful not to compact it. Divide into 1/2 lb. patties. When grill is ready, brush the grill rack with vegetable oil. Place the patties on the rack, cover, and cook, turning once, until done to preference. Medium is best for this burger approximately 7 minutes each side. After burgers are done stack to side and place the buns, cut side down, on the outer edges of the grill rack to toast lightly. To assemble burger place 1 tsp mayonnaise, 1 tsp mustard, 1 slice onion,1 slice tomato and leaf of lettuce on bottom of bun, add meat patty and enjoy!


Makes 4 1/2lb. burgers
