The Arizona Burger

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

Ingredients

3 pounds of ground beef
2 cups of refried beans
6 slices of monterey jack cheese
2 tablespoons of chili powder
2 tablespoons of cumin
2 tablespoons of onion powder
2 tablespoons of garlic powder
1 teaspoon of chipotle powder
2 tablespoons of paprika
2 teaspoons of salt
1 teaspoon of pepper
1/2 cup of mayonnaise
1/2 cup of sour cream
1 avocado (peeled and sliced)
3 tomatoes, chopped
1/2 cup finely diced onion
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
2 teaspoons of lime juice
6 kaiser rolls

 

Instructions

Preheat a grill for medium heat. When hot, lightly oil the grate.
In a medium bowl, stir together tomatoes, onion, cilantro, salt, and lime juice. Chill in the refrigerator.
In a large bowl, lightly mix the ground beef, chili powder, cumin, paprika ,onion and garlic powder, chipotle powder, salt and pepper.
Divide into 12 equal portions and flatten each one into 1/4 inch thick patties.
Place an equal portion of the refried beans onto 6 of the patties. Top with the remaining 6 patties, pressing the edges together to enclose the filling.
Grill the patties for 6 to 8 minutes on each side when burgers have 2 to 3 minutes left to cook top with cheese.
While hamburgers are cooking in a food processor mix
sour cream, mayo and avocado until well mixed.
Toast rolls lightly on grill for 1 minute, add avocado mayonnaise to top and bottoms of the rolls, place burgers on the rolls and place even amounts of salsa on each burger and enjoy!
