Thanksgiving Comes Early Turkey Burgers
I love everything about Thanksgiving and was thinking what if I could combine some of those flavors in a burger?
I came up with this delicious turkey burger and was very thankful because it is just delicious.
1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
1/2 cup herb seasoned stuffing mix, crushed
1/3 cup onion, chopped fine
2 tablespoons condensed milk
1/2 teaspoon dried sage
1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper
Sweet potato crisps part:
enough oil to come up 1 inch in a fry pan
24 waffle cut sweet potato slices, thawed
1 teaspoon salt
Cranberry sauce part:
16 ounce can jellied cranberry sauce
1 teaspoon orange zest
1 cup chili sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
6 Potato rolls
24 sweet potato crisps
6 slices of onion
12 loose leaf red lettuce leaves
In a large bowl combine all the burger ingredients.
Form 6 patties.
Pre heat grill to high.
Next make the sweet potato waffle fries.
Heat the oil in a flame proof pan.
Fry the sweet potato slices until they are browned on each side.
Drain on paper towels, season with salt, and set aside.
Next make the cranberry sauce by combining all sauce ingredient in a flame proof sauce pan, and bring to a simmer, simmer until the cranberry sauce is liquid.
Slice the rolls in half length wise.
The grill should be on med high now.
Grill the burgers to an internal temp of 180°
The last 5 minutes of cooking, toast the buns on the cut sides.
Put a burger on a bun, top with desired amount of cranberry sauce, 4 sweet potato crisps, slice of onion, and 2 leaves of lettuce.
If you love the whole berry sauce you certaibly could use that instead of the jellied.
