Tex Mex Burger
We make this as an alternitive to the tradidtional burger. We grill a lot in the summer, and have a host of options for all the traditional favorites! Instead of serving with Lettuce, tomato and onion & katsup, we like to garnish tjhis burger with Vidalia onion, sliced Avacado and Salsa for dipping!
Makes 4 generous 1/3lb burgers!
1Lb. lean Ground Beef
6 ounces canned black beans
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tbsp fresh chopped cilantro (can substitute with parsley)
1-2 Tbsp bread crumbs
1/2 Tsp Salt
1/4 tsp fresh black pepper
2 fresh cloves garlic, chopped
1/2 small vidalia or red onion diced very small
1/2 cub crumbled queso fresco cheese (greek feta cheese can be substituted)
1/2 tsp (optional) red pepper flakes
Rolls for serving (we have used the Corn ENGLISH MUFFINS as a tasty alternitive too)
Sliced 1 sliced vidalia or red onion
Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl. Mix well with hands. Form 4 large patties. Grill until desired temperature. Approximately 8 minutes per side for med-well done. serve on rolls or english muffins topped with sliced advocado and onion. Serve salsa for dipping.
This is one of our favorite summer time burgers. We tend to serve it with grilled corn on the cob and a fresh salad from the garden. These are big burgers, so bring your appetite!
