Tequila Shot Burger

Ingredients

2 lbs- ground beef
1 egg
1/2 yellow Pepper(Finely chopped)
1/2 green pepper(finely chopped)
1 white onion (finely chopped)
4 garlic cloves(Chopped)
1 1/2 shot of Tequila(any brand)
2 limes (zested)
2 teaspoon of pepper
2 teaspoon of salt
1 1/2 tablespoon of Steak seasoning
6 Kaiser Buns
3 cups of shredded iceberg Lettuce
12 slices of swiss cheese
Vegtable oil for brushing the rack for grilling
Lime Mayonnaise
1 cup Mayonnaise
1 juice of a lime
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon

 

Instructions

Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill with a cover, or preheat a gas grill to medium-high. Lime Mayonnaise 1 cup mayonnaise,juice of a lime,1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, mix well and refrigerate until ready to serve. To make the patties, combine the beef,egg,yellow & green pepper,onion, garlic, tequila, lime zest, salt,pepper and Steak seasoning in a large bowl. Handling the meat as little as possible to avoid compacting it, mix well. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form the portions into patties to fit the rolls. Brush the grill rack with oil. Place the patties on the rack, cover, and grill until browned on the bottoms, 3 to 4 minutes. Turn the patties and continue grilling until done to preference, about 5 minutes longer for medium. For well done leave on another 10 minutes. During the last few minutes of cooking, lightly brush the tops of the Kiser rolls with the oil and carefully place the rolls on the grill, cut side down, on the outer edges of the rack to toast lightly. To assemble the burgers, place a generous amount of the lime mayonnaise over the cut sides of the rolls. On each roll bottom,the pattie, 2 slices of swiss cheese, place 1/2 cup of the shredded iceberg lettuce,. Add the roll tops and serve. Makes 6 burgers
