Tasty Tailgate Turkey Burger
This burger so LOW in FAT and CHOLESTEROL everyone can enjoy one! It's made with fresh ground turkey breast.
Ingredients for burgers:
1 1/2 lbs. freshly ground turkey breast
1/2 c. EACH of grated apple,
chopped parsley and
crushed seasoned bread crumbs (choose type used for stuffing)
1/2 t. (or to taste) of EACH salt & pepper
8 light whole wheat buns
Olive oil for grill
Ingredients for sauce:
1/2 c. light sour cream
1/2 c. light mayonnaise
3 T. chopped green onions
4 T. chopped dill pickles
1 T. dill weed or 2 T. fresh dill
Mix well in a bowl: turkey, grated apple (remove skin from apple wash and grate), finely chopped parsley, crushed bread crumbs, salt and pepper. Shape into 8 burgers. Carry to grill on cookie sheet or lay in covered container for carrying to your site on ice. Grill with MEDIUM heat on your favorite grill brushing grates with olive oil. Watch carefully while grilling about 3 minutes per side or until no pink is left in center. Lay on toasted wheat buns. Serve with Onion and Dill sauce. Mix sauce ingredients together 1/2 hour before making burgers to blend flavors Serve with your favorite salad, fruit, and wine!
