Sweet Home AlaBurger

This simple to prepare burger is very versatile and stands up to a merlot or cav sav. If I were to open a restaurant or sing a song about a burger, this would be the one!


1 pound of ground beef
3 cloves of pressed garlic
1 tsp cumin 
2 tsp veg oil
4 slices of onion
16 pickle chips
4 slices american cheese
4 sesame seed buns
sweet bbq sauce


Add 3 cloves of pressed garlic and 1 tsp of cumin to 1 pound of ground beef. Mix gently by hand. Form 4 equal portions of meat into balls. Let sit covered at room temperature for 15 minutes. - Heat skillet for 5 minutes with 2 tsp of veg oil at medium temp. - Place all 4 meat balls into skillet. Let them cook for 30 seconds to 1 minute prior to smashing down to form proper size patty. After approximately 3-5 minutes, turn over patty. After 2 minutes add onion slice and cheese to top of patty. Be sure to add cheese last as to hide the onion and to secure it to the patty. After cheese is slightly melted, it is ready to serve. - Serve with sweet bbq sauce on both sides of the bun and pickle slices or pickle chips on a lightly toasted sesame seed bun.
