Gewurztraminer

Hard to pronounce yet easy to drink, this wine combines lychee fruit and white peach flavors with a hint of spice.

Ingredients

2 cups coarsely ground chicken
1 T. freshly ground black pepper
6 T. chopped onion
3 T. snipped, fresh parsley
1 ½ t. garlic salt
1 large egg
6 T. Italian bread crumbs
1 T. Parmesan cheese
2 T. barbeque sauce
vegetable oil, for brushing on the grill pan
6 glazed raised donuts, split
6 lettuce leaves
2 T. barbeque sauce

Instructions

Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill, or preheat a gas grill to medium high. To make the patties, combine the chicken, pepper, onion, parsley, garlic salt, egg, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and 2 T. barbeque sauce in large bowl. Mix well. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and form the portions into patties to fit the donuts. When the grill is ready, brush the grill pan with vegetable oil. Place the patties on the pan. Grill for 6 minutes. Turn and grill for 6-8 minutes more or until no longer pink. When the patties are cooked, remove from the grill, stacking to keep warm. Place the donuts, cut side down, on the outer edges of the grill rack to warm. To assemble the burgers, place patty on glazed side of donut. Top with lettuce leaf and 1 t. barbeque sauce. Add the other half of the donut, glazed side down, and serve. Makes 6 burgers.
