Sushi Burger

My favorite sushi roll! I hate taking all the time to make the perfect sushi rice at home, so I decided to turn it into a quick and easy sushi burger!

Ingredients 

Wasabi Soy Marinade:

½ cup Soy Sauce

1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

1 tablespoon wasabi paste

Pattie:

3 pounds ground shrimp

1/3 cup Wasabi Soy Marinade

2 tablespoons minced green onion

Spicy Chili Aioli:

1/3 cup olive oil mayo

1/3 cup Japanese chili paste

Misc:

6 ciabatta rolls

18 ¼ slices of avocado

12 pieces of crisp bacon

2 stalks of green onion sliced thinly

Vegetable oil for grill

Instructions 

Directions

To make Wasabi Soy Marinade, combine all ingredients, set aside for marinating, and grilling.

To make the patties, combine all of the ingredients together in a large bowl, mixing together well to make sure all ingredients are evenly distributed. Divide mixture into 6 equal portions and form into patties. Set aside to continue marinating until grilling time.

To make Spicy Chili Aioli, combine all of the ingredients together in a mixing bowl and keep cool until assembling the burgers.

To crisp bacon, toss on medium high grill and crisp for 3 minutes on one side 2 on the second. Keep warm until burger assembly.

Heat the grill to medium about 325 degrees. When the grill is ready, with a cloth towel, rub the grill rack with vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Place the patties on the rack and close grill lid. After cooking for 3 minutes, the top of the patty should look like it has cooked a little. Baste the top w 2 teaspoons Soy Wasabi Marinade and Flip patties, baste the other side now with another 2 tablespoons and close the lid and continue cooking another 2 minutes. Do not push down on the patty because this will release the juices. Remove the patties from the grill and place the sliced buns, cut side down, on the outer edges of the rack to toast lightly.

To assemble the burgers, top each side of the bun with 1 tablespoon of Spicy Chili Aioli and spread evenly. Then add ½ tablespoon of thinly sliced green onion to the bottom bun, then the burgers, then top w 2 pieces of crisp bacon and 3 slices of avocado. Add the top of the Bun and enjoy!
