Surprise Burger

Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.

Ingredients

3lb ground meat
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/2 tbsp cayenne pepper powder
1 tbsp onion powder
2 lg portabella mushrooms
1lb cooked thick bacon
salt
pepper
4 oz pepper jack w/jalepeno
pepper cheese (Cut into 1/4 inch thick cubes)
6 slices of American cheese
6 hamburger buns
Optional Toppings/Ingredients:
Ketchup
Mustard
Lettuce
Tomato

 

Instructions

Preheat the Grill to 400 degrees Take ground meat and add the garlic powder, cayenne pepper, onion powder. Mix all these ingredients well in a bowl and set aside. Take the portabella mushrooms wipe them off with damp paper towel to clean off the dirt, then chop up and place in the food chopper. Chop the mushrooms until finely chopped. Place mushrooms in a bowl and set aside. Take cooked bacon and add to food chopper until finely crumbled. Then mix well together the set aside mixture of ground meat, the set aside chopped mushrooms and the finely crumbled bacon. Lightly salt and pepper the mixture. Next, take 1/4 lb of the mixture and flatten in your hand and place 3 cubes of the pepper jack cheese in a triangle form on top of the flattened ground meat mixture. Next, take 1/4 lb of the ground meat mixture and place on top of the pepper jack cheese triangle form and pinch the sides to make sure the burger is sealed. Continue with the remainder ground meat mixture and pepper jack cheese assemble. After all 6 burgers are prepared spray the grill racks with Pam cooking spray and place all 6 burgers on the preheated grill. Cook burgers for 6-8 minutes on each side (until done in the middle). Add 1 slice of American Cheese to each cooked burger. Once the Cheese has melted then add the "Surprise Cheese Burger" to the bun and add desired optional Toppings.
