Hi, my name is Freddy. I live in San Antonio, Texas and work as a Systems Technician. I am 28 years old and married to my better half three years ago (Rosella). We also have two beautiful girls, Gabby and Maggie who are 1 1/2 years and 2 1/2 years old. Most of my cooking ability comes from my mom; she inspires me to cook and is always giving me ideas for quick, simple recipes with easy to find ingredients. This has been very useful in creating my burgers. My idea for this recipe actually came from watching the 2005 Build a Better Burger Cook one lazy Sunday afternoon with my wife and my sister-in-law. We were all very hungry after watching the competition and decided to come up with my own burger recipe with all the things that I love in a burger, and so the SuprBlue Burger was born.
4 lbs Hamburger Meat
1 1/2 Tablespoons of Crushed Red Pepper
1 Tablespoon of Garlic Powder
1 Tablespoon of dried Cilantro
1 Teaspoon of Salt
6oz of Fresh Mushrooms
10 oz of Peppercorn Bacon
1 Tablespoon of Spicy Seasoning
4 Cups of Shredded Jalepeno Cheese
1 Bottle of Peppercorn Ranch Dressing
Blue Food Coloring
1 Package of Premium Hamburger Buns (8 buns)
1 head of Leaf Lettuce
2 Medium Tomatoes
Making the SuprBlue Burger.... To make SuprBlue Burgers you will start by placing the hamburger meat in a large bowl and mix in the crushed red pepper, garlic powder, cilantro, salt and pepper. Chop the mushrooms and bacon as finely as possible (the bacon will be easier to chop if it is partially frozen) and mix in with the Hamburger mixture. Once the ingredients have been mixed completely with the hamburger meat you are able to spice up the cheese, add 1Tb of spicy seasoning to the cheese and mix thoroughly, most shredded cheese comes in a Ziploc bag, the easiest way to mix is simply to open the package, add seasoning, seal the bag, and shake. Now you're ready to start putting the patties together. Pull 1/4lb of the hamburger mixture and flatten to make a patty, in the center of the pattie add 1/8 cup of cheese and spread evenly leaving the outer rim (1/4 of an inch) of the patty without cheese. Make another 1/4lb patty and place over the initial patty with cheese and press down on the edges to seal the cheese inside, repeat 7 times. Once your patties are made you are ready for the grill. Cook on Medium heat for approximately 7-10 minutes on each side. Once the patties are on the grill you will have time to make your SuprBlue Ranch dressing, to do so you will need to add blue food coloring to your ranch dressing bottle and shake. Putting it all together....To put your burgers together simply open up your hamburger buns, spread your dressing on the inside of both buns add a layer of lettuce, tomato and the delicious hamburger patty.
I think this recipe is really easy and fun to make. From the first time I created and made the burgers they have been a great conversation piece. The recipe is made of simple ingredients that are readily available at most grocery stores and can easily spice up burger night at your house. The recipe may make it seem like a spicy burger but it really isn't, the burgers should have a slow heat so that you don't rush for a glass of water, but make you want to have another bite.
