Spicy Charizo Burger with Jicama Slaw and Boursin Garlic and Herb Cheese Spread

Ingredients 

Boursin Cheese Spread:
1/2 cup Boursin Garlic and Herb soft cheese
1/2 cup miracle whip

Patties:
2 pounds ground chuck
1/2 pound Mexican Charizo
3 tablespoonsof Janes Krazy mixed-up salt
1 1/2 tablespoons of smokehouse black pepper by McCormick
1 tablespoon of fresh cilantro

Jicama Slaw:
1 large carrot thinly sliced
1 small jicam thinly sliced
1 red bell pepper
1 yellow bell pepper
Juice of one lime
1 1/2 tablespoon of rice vinegar
1 tablespoon of fresh cilantro
2 tablespoons of sugar
1/2 cup of olive oil
1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes
1/2 teaspoon of kosher salt

1/2 stick of butter for brushing the patties
1/2 stick of butter for brushing the buns
6 large egg hamburger buns
6 large leaf lettuce
12 slices of think hickory smoked bacon
6 slices of red tomato

Instructions 

Prepare a medium hot fire in a charcoal grill or preheat a gas grill to medium high.

To make Cheese spread, combine boursin cheese and miracle whip and refrigerate.

To make patties, combine chuck, charizo, cilantro, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Mix but handle as little as possible and form 6 equal portions .

To make Jicama Slaw combine the carrots, red and yellow peppers, jicama, cilantro, in a bowl. Mix together in a separate bowel the juice of the lime, rice vinegar, olive oil, red pepper flakes and the kosher salt. Stir well and pour over veggies and let set at least 15 mins so the flavors can marry.

When the grill is ready place a stainless steel pan on the grill and cook bacon for 7 mins. Once done put to the side. Place buttered patties on the grill over direct flames and cook for 5 mins per side or until your desired degree of doneness.

While the burgers are finshing up on the grill brush the buns with butter and toast for 60 seconds. Slather the cheese sauce on the top and bottom buns. Put on large lettuce leaf on the bottom of each bun, followed by one large tomato slice, two slices of bacon, a patty then top with the jicama slaw and add bun and serve immediately.

This burger came about due to my husbands love of burges and charizo sausage. The two together provide an explosition of taste and flavors. Enjoy
