Simple artichoke spinach dip burgers

Vegas is a melting pot of food, from 5-star, to bar food.One of my favorites is Artichoke Dip. But everywhere I went it was different. So one day I decided to make my own version and everyone loved it. My family soon decided they really like it on my Burgers, and the rest, so they say is history.

Ingredients:

artichoke spinach dip:
1 (8oz) pk. chopped spinach (drained )
1 (14oz) can whole artichoke hearts (drained & diced)
1 (8oz) pk. cream cheese ( soften)
1 1/2 cup kraft parmesan cheese
1 Tbsp. garlic salt with parsley
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 1/2 tsp. pepper
Patties:
2 lbs ground chuck
1/2 cup kraft tuscon italian dressing
1/4 cup italian bread crumbs
1 1/2 tsp. garlic salt with parsley
1 tsp. kosher salt
1 tsp pepper
2-3 Tbsp. vegetable oil, for brushing on grill
toppings:
12 pre-cooked thick sliced bacon, cut in half
1 small sheet of aluminum foil
1 small red onion, cut into 6 , 1/8 inch thick slices
6 good-quality hamburger buns, split

Instructions:

Prepare a medium-hot fire in a charcoal grill with cover, or preheat a gas grill to meduim-high.
To make artichoke-spinach dip: take spinach, artichoke, cream cheese, parmesan cheese, garlic salt with parsley,salt and pepper, and put all ingredients in a non-stick medium-sized fire proof pot with lid, cover and set on outer- rack of grill, heat up slowly 10-12 minutes, untill cream cheese is melted and all ingredients are incorporated.
To make patties, combine ground chuck, italian dressing, italian bread crumbs,gralic salt with parsley,salt and pepper. mix untill ingredients are all incorporated. shape into 6 patties to fit the bun size, set aside.
When grill is ready brush vegetable oil on grill racks,place patties on rack, cover and cook turning once, until done to preference, or 5-7 minutes for medium. while burgers are cooking and the dip is warming up take the bacon and wrap in aluminum foil and place on grill to warm. during the last 2 minutes of grillling place the buns, cut side down, on the outer edges of grill, toast lightly.
To assemble burgers, place equal amounts of dip on both top and bottom of toasted buns, place bacon and red onion on bottom bun along with the burger, then place on top bun and serve. makes 6 servings
