Sausage Rice Burger

This burger is tender and tasty. I stumbled onto it one day using up the long grain rice leftovers in the refrigerator. I have cooked since my first job in a restaurant as a young boy. Cooking is my hobby now that I am retired.


12 ounces ground round (four burgers)
4 ounces Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage
1/2 cup long grain white rice (cooked)
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. parsley flakes
1/2 cup Italian bread crumbs
1 tbl. olive oil


Mix all ingredients together. Form into four patties. Heat olive oil in skillet over medium heat setting on stovetop. Add burger patties to skillet. Cover skillet with lid and cook to desired doneness, turning once. Serve on your choice of bun with condiments or as a separate meat entre.
