San Angelo Taco Burger

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups of crushed corn flakes
1 envelope of Taco Seasoning mix
1 can (10 oz) diced tomatos & green chilis (regular or milder)
2 lbs ground beef (chuck)
1 egg
1/2 cup beef broth
salt
fresh ground pepper
16 pita pockets
2 cups chopped tomatoes
2 cups chopped lettuce
2 cups chopped onions condiments

 

Instructions

In a bowl, combine corn flakes, taco mix, can tomatos/green chilis, daah of salt and pepper. Crumble beef over mixture add egg, mix well. Slowly add in beef broth while mixing ingredients. Shape into eight, 1/2 inch patties approximately 5" to 6" in diameter. Cut each patty in half. Cover a cookie sheet with wax paper and place each piece on the cookie sheet. Cover with wax paper or plastic wrap; refrigerate for an hour or longer. Broil, grill or pan-fry burgers until meat is no longer pink. Serve to guest on platter. Prepare your own San Angelo Taco Burger. Suggestion: Spread guacamole on one side and sour cream on the other. Place burger in Pita pocket and top with chopped tomato, lettuce, and onions. Place on paper plate with potato chips, fritos, or tortilla chips and a cool drink.
