Raspberry Chipotle Burger

I am really into the combination of berries with meat this grilling season.

Raspberry Chipotle Burger

The Meat:
1. 1lb ground beef sirloin
2. 4 Tbl raspberry preserves
3. 2 tsp Lipton onion soup mix
4. 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
5. ¼ oz pre-cooked bacon bits

The Bun:

1. 6 mini pretzel buns, cut in half on the horizontal.

The Toppings:

1. 3 oz goat cheese
2. 18 fresh raspberries
3. 3 oz raspberry preserves
4. 6 slices of precooked bacon, cut in half
5. ½ 8 oz can chipotle peppers, each pepper sliced in half

Put it all Together:

1. Mix all items in "the meat" section well, and form into 6 small patties.
2. Heat gas grill on highest setting until it reaches 500 degrees.
3. Scrub grill clean with grill brush.
4. At 500 degrees, turn the heat down to med-high setting and lubricate the grill with a paper towel coated in vegetable oil by rubbing the paper towel back and forth over the grates of the grill until entire surface of grill grates are coated.
5. Place each patty on the grill and cook 5 minutes.
6. Turn each patty over and cook for another 5 minutes for medium doneness.
7. Remove patties and set aside to rest.
8. Place each bun, on grill, inside facing toward the heat for 2-3 minutes or until toasted golden.
9. Remove buns.
10. On each bottom bun, smear 1/2oz goat cheese.
11. Then place one half of a chipotle pepper.
12. Next, place one patty.
13. On the top bun, smear 1/2oz raspberry preserves.
14. Next, push 3 fresh raspberries into the preserves so they stick.
15. Top the patty with 2 slices of pre-cooked bacon.
16. Place the top bun on the bacon.
17. Enjoy!!!!

This is my second year entering this contest, and I have had a blast using friends and family as guinea pig tasters. I'm pretty sure they've had fun as well! I will continue to enter for years to come!
