Ingredients

1 small onion (chopped fine)
8-10 fresh mushrooms (chopped fine)
1 tablespoon Oregano
½ teaspoon of fennel seed
¼ cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 large cloves of garlic (minced)
2 tablespoons fresh bacon bits
1 egg 2 lbs Lean Ground Sirloin
1 lb. Fresh Provolone cheese (shredded)
Salt
Black pepper
1 medium Purple onion (thinly sliced)
1 large tomato (thinly sliced)
Fresh Spinach Italian dressing
6 fresh hamburger rolls

Instructions

In a large pouch of thick aluminum foil add chopped onion, mushrooms, oregano, and fennel seed. Mix ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil and garlic poor on the mixture. Fold the foil tightly and place on hot grill for 13-15 minutes or until onions are tender. In a large mixing bowl incorporate the sautéed ingredients, fresh bacon bits and 1 egg with Ground Sirloin and mix well. By hand, make into patties. Take a healthy “pinchâ€Â of the shredded Provolone cheese and place in the center of one patty. Place another patty on top (make sure to seal well by pinching patties together so cheese doesn’t ooze during cooking). Salt and pepper to taste. Grill on high heat (flipping every three minutes or so) for 12-15 minutes, or until done. Remove burgers from grill and let set for 3 minutes. Top burger with a thin slice of sweet purple onion, fresh tomato slice, fresh spinach leafs, and sprinkle with your favorite Italian dressing and serve on a lightly grilled burger roll. Makes 6 burgers.
