In many portuguese restaruants is very common to serve an egg on your steak. I took the concept further and thought, why not on a burger?
1lb of ground sirloin beef
Eggs (for meat and topping)
Seasoned bread crumbs
portuguese chili sauce (piri piri)
Ciabata roll S
Port wine (for sauce reduction)
Start by mixing the sirloin, chorizo, garlic, 2 eggs, 1 cup of the bread crumbs & Piri piri sauce. Form the patties and let it chill. Meanwile start by slicing onions and get it nice and caramelized, add 1 1/2 to 2 cups of port wine. Reduction sauce. Get burgers on grill , fry one egg, spray cciabbata rolls with olive oil and place on grill with burgers. Add cheese and portuguese sauce and seve.
