Pizza Burgers

My neighbor, when I was younger, used to make pizza burgers for the whole apartment building, I always loved them! Who doesn't like pizza and who doesn't like a good burger? Why not mix them together?

1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/4 tsp. garlic salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1 small onion diced
1/4 cup shredded cheddar
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella
18 slices of mini pepperoni
1 16oz can of pizza sauce
6 hamburger buns
6 leaves of lettuce
6 tomato slices

1. Preheat broiler
2. Mix together the first 4 ingredients
3. Combine mixture with ground beef
4. Add diced onion to the seasoned beef mixture
5. Shape into 6 patties
6. Broil 5-6 minutes on each side or until done
7. Sprinkle top with both shredded cheeses
8. Top with pepperonis
9. Put desired amount of pizza sauce on the top half of each bun
10. Place burgers on bottom half of buns
11. Dress burgers with once slice of lettuce and tomato each
12. Top with remaining half of buns

This is great for kids but I have found that adults love this as well. I like to drink a chilled glass of Moscato with mine. If Moscato is too sweet for your liking try it with Sauvignon Blac..delish! I usually serve this with honey roasted potatoes, bacon ranch pasta salad and a creamy fruit salad afterwards.
Another great thing about this recipe is that is is soooo versatile. You can add toppings as you like. Additional toppings that you can add include; slice mushrooms, sliced green peppers, bacon, black/green olives, etc. Bascially top this burger with your favorite pizza toppings...try something different each time. There is plenty of room for experimenting with this. Enjoy!!
