RECIPES: Recipe Details
One year, we wanted to cook something different for Thanksgiving other than the usual turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. It was really warm that November, so we decided to grill out. We wanted to keep a bit of Thanksgiving in dinner so we made - turkey burgers. Thus, the "Pilgrim Burger" was born, and we have been thankful for it ever since!
1/2 cup of mayonaise
1 1/2 tablespoons of curry powde
r 2 pounds of ground turkey
1 large white onion, minced
1 egg white
Oil for grilling (I use Sesame)
6 hamburger buns
6 slices of jack cheese
Mix mayonaise and 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of curry powder. Place in an airtight container and refrigerate. Mix turkey with remaining curry powder, onion and egg white. Shape into patties. Brush grill lightly with sesame oil. Grill burgers til desired doneness. Top with cheese and place on bun. Top each burger with mayonaise sauce.
Delicious! The Pilgrims never had it so good!
