1 c. heavy cream
1 T. cream cheese, room temperature and cubed

2 ¼ lb. ground beef
¼ c. Italian style breadcrumbs
½ c. Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon
2 T. garlic, chopped
1 T. steak seasoning
¼ c. flat leaf parsley, chopped
Olive oil, for brushing on grill rack
1 T. Sutter Home Sauvignon Blanc (or milk)
6 Italian steak rolls, split and lightly toasted
12 whole red hot cherry peppers (bottled Italian variety) deseed, destemm and roughly torn

Instructions

Preheat grill to medium-high.

To make broccoli, sauté olive oil, garlic, broccoli, salt and red pepper in a fireproof sauté pan until tender crisp and still bright green in color. Add pizza sauce and wine to mixture stirring until thoroughly heated. Keep warm, cover and set aside.

To make Alfredo sauce, sauté garlic and butter in a small fireproof sauté pan for 1 to 2 minutes. Add cream and cream cheese simmering gently until sauce is smooth and a medium consistency. Stir in Parmesan cheese just until melted through. Keep warm, cover and set aside.

To make patties, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, wine, garlic, steak seasoning and parsley in a large bowl. Handle meat as little as possible. Divide this mixture into six even portions and form them into patties the size of the rolls.

Grill burgers on an oiled grate for 3-4 minutes; flip and cook 2 -3 minutes more. Just before assembling give the Alfredo sauce a quick stir to check consistency, adding wine(or milk) to thin as needed.

To assemble the burgers, on each roll bottom spread an equal portion of broccoli, place a burger atop the broccoli, spoon desired amount of Alfredo sauce over burger and top each burger with two roughly torn hot cherry peppers. Crown with roll tops and serve.

Makes 6 burgers.
