Pepperoni Pizza Burger

This burger was inspired by our favorite, PEPPERONI PIZZA! A juicy italian flavored beef patty garnished with grilled pepperoni slices, mozzerella cheese, and a sweet marinara sauce. Served on a pizza crust bun.

2 rolls of refrigerated pizza crust
3 pounds ground chuck
1/2 T Italian seasoning
6 T shredded parmesan cheese
24 slices of large pepperoni
6 slices mozzerella cheese
6 T your favorite marinara sauce
olive oil
salt (to taste)

In a large bowl combine ground chuck, italian seasoning, and parmesan cheese. Mix and form into 6 equal patties and grill. Cut two rolls of pizza dough into 6 equal slices each. Roll out pizza dough to the size of the burger patties. Coat 2 baking sheets with a think layer of olive oil. Bake 12 pizza rounds at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes. Grill the pepperoni slices until crispy. To assemble: Lay down one dough round, top with 1/2 T of marinara sauce, 2 slices of grilled pepperoni, the grilled beef patty, 2 more slices of grilled pepperoni, one slice of mozzerella cheese, and remaning 1/2 T of marinara, then top with another pizza round.

We found that you should not make the patties too thick. It makes it too hard to eat. We tried a slice of tomato as opposed to the marinara sauce and found that the marinara gave it extra flavor. Me, my husband, and daughter, Mia, were all involved in developing, tasting, and cooking this recipe.
