Not So “Take Out” Burgers

After trying this burger you won't be ordering take out any longer. The great flavors will make you forget that it was created on your backyard BBQ.


Sesame Ginger Sauce:
3 tablespoons soy sauce
½ cup lemon juice
3 tablespoons Grey Poupon mustard
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons sesame oil
4 tablespoons white vinegar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons ginger
2 pounds ground chicken
½ cup water
3 teaspoons vegetable oil (for grill)
Portabella mushroom, sliced
1/3 cup olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
½ cup mayonnaise
6 ciabatta hamburger buns


In small bowl combine sauce ingredients. Mix well. Set aside. In large bowl combine ½ of sauce mixture with ground chicken, and water. Mix well. Shape into 6 patties. Grease grill with vegetable oil. Grill burgers over low heat for 20-30 minutes. Drizzle mushroom slices with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Grill. Mix remaining sauce mixture with mayonnaise. Spread mixture over buns. Place slice of mushroom and burger on top of bun and serve.
