My Juicey Greek Burgers

Pairs well with:

Cabernet Sauvignon

This rich red easily complements your homemade chicken dishes, red meats, game, and mildly seasoned pastas.

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
1/4 pound lean ground pork
1 small onion minced
2 cloves of minced garlic
1 1/2 tablespoons tomato sauce
1 teaspoon Kosher salt
1 1/4 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons chopped fresh oregano
1/4 cup Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon
1/3 cup plain bread crumbs
Grill cooking spray or vegetable oil to brush on grill rack to prevent sticking
6 Kaiser rolls
8 oz. chunk of feta cheese; sliced
Sliced vine ripe tomato
Thin sliced sweet vidalia onion

 

Instructions

Prepare charcoal grill to med-hot (all coals are gray.) While the fire is getting hot mix together first 11 ingredients. Be sure you you mix well to blend all the flavors. Form into six patties. When the grill is ready, brush with vegetable oil or spray grill to prevent sticking. Place burgers on the grill turning 4 to 5 times for even cooking and interior tempreature of 160 degrees F. On the side of the grill toast 6 Kaiser rolls. Cover the bottom of the bun with slices of Feta cheese. Place the burger ontop of the cheese, then place sliced tomato and sweet vidalia onion ontop of the burger. Cover with the top of the bun and enjoy.
