My Dad's Burger

Dad cooked burgers this way, with a Swedish touch.


1 pound ground beef
1 small beet (canned sliced beets may be used)chopped into 1/4 inch cubes.
1 small onion (frozen chopped onion may be used) chopped fine.
1 teaspoon olive oil.
2 tablesppons red wine.


Chop onions finely and cook in one teaspoon of olive oil in frying pan placed on the grill. Frozen copped onion (1/2 cup) may be used. Boil a fresh beet until soft, peel and chop into 1/4 inch pieces. Or chop canned beet slices to make 1/2 cup. Place all ingredients in a bowl and mix by hand. Divide into 4 balls and form into patties. Cook over medium hot grill until done.


A different taste to a favorite.
