"Momma Mia" Now Thats A Burger!

I made this for a group of friends and it was a hit!


1.5 lbs ground beef
15 fresh oregano leaves
1/2 c chopped onion
1/2 c fresh grated parmesean cheese
2 cloves fresh minced garlic
1 egg
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
6 sourdough rolls butter for rolls
3 cloves fresh minced garlic
3 tbsp italian seasoning
12 fresh basil leaves
12 small slices fresh mozzerella cheese
12 small slices fresh vine ripe tomato
3 tbsp balsamic vinegar


In large bowl, mix with hands, ground beef, oregano, onion, garlic, egg, parm. cheese, salt and pepper. Mix well. Form six 1/2lb patties. Cook on a low heat for 15-20 mins on each side. Butter sourdough rolls and top with minced garlic and italian seasoning. Toast rolls on grill until golden. Place cooked patties onto bottom roll. Garnish patties each with two slices of mozz. cheese, two slices of tomato, and two basil leaves. Add a dash of balsamic vinegar on top. Place top portion of roll on patties.


Be sure to use all fresh ingredients when possible. Make slices of mozz. cheese and tomatoes on the thin side so burger can fit in mouth! :)
