1 - 15 oz. can garbonzo beans (drained)
1 Cup water
1 medium onion finely chopped
2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
3 Cups rolled oats
1 Cup whole wheat bread crumbs
1 Tbsp. molasses or honey
4 Tbsp. nutritional yeast flakes
3 Tsp parsley flakes
1 tsp. sage
1 Tblsp. Worcestershire sauce
for a grilled flavor, add 1 tsp. liquid smoke flavoring
1. Blend drained garbanzo with some of the water until smooth. 2. Add all ingredients into a mixing bowl and mix well by hand. 3. Let stand for up to 1/2 hour or chill in refrigerator for several hours. 4. Shape into patties, using ice cream scoop that has been dampened. Flatten and brown on a non-stick griddle that has been sprayed with vegetable oil spray. (medium heat for about 3 minutes on each side) These burgers freeze well. Just place waxed paper between patties and layer in a freezer container. Reheat in microwave or oven.
This is a healthy burger that is well-received by all ages.
