Maui Wowee Burgers

Aloha. My name is Stan, and I am a bonafide "Grillaholic". I love to cook anything and everything on the grill, and I also love a tasty burger! This recipe uses ground pork, which can be a nice change from beef. It is a recipe I created last year, when my wife and I hosted a backyard party for some friends who were marrying in Maui. The guests really enjoyed it, and my wife Kelly suggested that I enter it in the alternative part of your contest.

2 pounds of lean ground pork
1/4 cup of drained, chopped, canned pineapple (reserve the juice)
1 teaspoon of Dijon mustard
1 teaspoon of soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/4 teaspoon of pepper
1/4 cup of Mayonnaise
2 tablespoons of honey mustard dressing
3 teaspoons of pineapple juice (from reserved can)
extra virgin coconut oil for grill
Hawaiian Bread Buns - 1 package

Combine pork, pineapple, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, salt and pepper. Make sauce: mix the mayonaise, honey mustard dressing and pineapple juice. Refrigerate. Brush grill lightly with coconut oil. Grill for about 6 minutes on each side. Remove from grill, place on bun and serve with sauce. Enjoy!

This is a great altenative to a beef burger, and an especially great idea for a Hawaiian themed backyard party or any kind of Polynesian gathering.
