Mama Suzi’s hamburgers

Pairs well with:

Zinfandel

Bright and full-bodied, this Zinfandel wine is a curious contradiction in tastes.

Ingredients

3 lbs. hamburger, I use lean ground beef.
1/2 cup finely chopped onions ( red or white onions)
black pepper and salt (amt. your preference)
1/4 cup finely chopped mushrooms
1 beaten egg
1/8 cup soy sauce or red wine
Monterey Jack cheese slices, cut each slice into 4 small squares shredded lettuce
thinly sliced tomatoes
thinly sliced cucumbers
ketchup
mayo
mustard
buns

 

Instructions

Mix ground beef with chopped onions, mushrooms, beaten egg, soy sauce or red wine, add salt and pepper. Make 1/2 of the patty, placecheese square on top, and then cover the cheese square with the remaining top of the patty. Grill until done. put on bun. Serve with all or some of the above condiments.
